Second quiz scores
Sun/Mar/07 Filed in: Weekly
updates

The second set of iClicker lecture quiz scores have been updated to the grades section.
I explained the math behind how these are calculated to give you a score out of 20. If you need, I can explain it to you again.
The scores are quite good, which means you are taking notes, keep it up.

President's Day Weekend
Thu/Feb/11 Filed in: Weekly
updates

Next Monday is President’s Day, so we have no labs next week, but it will have no effect on our lecture schedule.
I’ve uploaded grades for the first 2 weeks of lab and the first lecture quiz (iClicker average results). This iClicker score is only for the first two lectures we used it.
Also, check out this sample paper from a former Biology 196 student as a guide for your paper that will be due next month.
I’ll be in Utah until Tuesday, so I won’t have your exams graded any time before then. Enjoy the long weekend.
The State of Nevada Education

I hope you all have been following
what is going on in this state, as it will likely affect you
directly or other members of your family.
What we know as CSN will be entirely different over the next 6 months and beyond. The budget cuts predicted to come just this Spring alone may cut 1/5 of all funding to Nevada schools, including CSN. 20% of all CSN may disappear by July. That would mean entire programs closing permanently, student services cut, staff and faculty layed off, and likely more large hikes in tuition and fees.

Welcome
Tue/Jan/19
Welcome
to the Michelson Biology 196 Website for Spring 2010.
Please note that Biology 196 requires that you have taken Biology 189 (or equivalent). If you have not had a college-level course in biology in the past, you should check with the instructor or your college counselor before registering for Biology 196.
Here you will find lecture notes, links to grades, schedules, movies, etc. You should also make sure you have the appropriate software installed on your personal computer to view the media that
will be found here.
The computers on campus have all the appropriate software and everything is tested there. If you are having any difficulties with this site my first suggestion will be for you to use a computer on campus.
For the lecture quizzes this semester you must have an iClicker. These can be purchased at the college bookstore, and should look like this:
Did you know that all CSN students have free email addresses with the college that exist even after the student has left the college? Check here.
